Her clients include major and indie recording artists and labels, touring and studio background singers, national public speakers, teachers and voiceover talent. Her students and recording clients have appeared on “The Today Show,” “The David Letterman Show,” The Ellen Degeneres Show,” “The Voice,” “American Idol,” “America’s Got Talent,” The Grammy Awards, CMA, ACM and MTV Awards Shows. .
Rodman started her career as a session and jingle singer in Memphis before becoming a backup singer in Nashville (recording with everyone from Elvis Presley, George Strait and Johnny Cash to Reba McEntire and Wynonna) and an artist in her own right in the 1980’s. Her #1 hit “Until I Met You” earned her the Best New Female Vocalist ACM Award and a Top New Country Female award from Billboard.
“What makes my course different is that everything I teach comes from what I’ve learned from over 40 years of works as a professional on other people’s hit songs and my own,” says Rodman, who has been teaching for 20 years. “My trademarked Power, Path and Performance is a synergistic concept with a three stranded chord of techniques. It came from putting together everything I know about the voice that matters. Our breath is the power, our open, rather than tight, throat channel becomes the path, and communication is the performance, or why the voice exists in the first place.
“Performance encompasses both physical and psychological aspects of communication, and the reason all of this is synergistic is because when everything is working together, it literally changes your anatomy and how you use your face. With this method, people can sing as long as they want and never strain their voices.”
Like all of her courses, Rodman’s PCG Online modules are designed for anyone who is serious about developing their voice, from the passionate beginner to a pro who has been working in the industry for years. “PCG Online is unique because it allows me to train anyone, not just those who have the means and time to come to Nashville,” she says. “I’m excited about sharing these courses, because now anyone who wants to get out there and pursue their talents can learn to sing at the top of their game.”
